I had seen these so-called “water beads” all over kids activity blogs and was really wanting to try them. So, when I got a chance to review the ones from Eco-Orbies, I jumped on it! I was wondering where to track them down, and Eco-Orbies delivered them right to my door (which is the best way to get anything, in my opinion).

The beads are tiny as mustard seeds to begin with, but one packet grows to make about 2 cups.

Soak them in water for a while (overnight will do), and you’ve got instant amazement and periodic entertainment for your kids.
Eco-Orbies are a totally unique sensory experience. They bounce. You can squish em, pour em, scoop em, whatever – they entertained my kid for at least half an hour on several occasions, and that’s what counts!

In addition to occupying the kiddos, water beads can be used as soil for houseplants. The plants will draw the water out of them as needed, so neglectful plant owners (like me) don’t have to remember to water nearly as often.
If you’ve never experienced water beads, I encourage you to go over to the Eco-Orbies website and order some. You can get a pack delivered to your door for $4 (likely less than it costs to drive to a store). Shipping is free through the end of May. You can also find more about Eco-Orbies on their facebook page.
