Word Family Bingo (Free Printable!)

Word families are one of the easiest ways to help beginning readers learn to decipher words by their parts. If you have a beginning reader at home, encourage him or her to learn about word families with this word family bingo game. It’s free to print and fun to play!

What’s Included

The downloadable pdf file contains 8 different bingo cards and 3 pages of words to cut out. We printed these on white cardstock, but you could use whatever paper you’d like.

How to Play

All you need is the printed pdf, some scissors, and something to use as markers. We like using glass stones (you can usually get a bag of these at the dollar store).

After you have called out the word, you can turn the fold out and the word cards will stand up like little tents.

I think this is fabulous some of the blends may be hard for my kinders.  Thanks again,

My preschooler struggled with some of these too.  I’m thinking of making an easier set and maybe a set with simple sight words. Let me know if you have some suggestions for easier word families.
